Creating an INTASC Portfolio
You mission is to create a web page that outlines past, present, or future evidences of your beliefs, knowledge, skills, accomplishments, and experiences as they relate to the ten INTASC core principles.
The INTASC core principles are nationally recognized as high standards for the pedagogical practices of new and experienced teachers. Your understanding of these principles and ability to relate your portfolio to them will be a great asset for your future employment as a teacher.
STEP 1: Learn about INTASC
and INTASC portfolios by visiting the following web page:
http://teacherworld.com/intasc.html
IMPORTANT: Be sure to visit all of the links on this web page.
STEP 2: Create a web page titled intasc.html.
STEP 3: Copy and paste the following 10 INTASC core principles on your page:
1. Content Pedagogy

2. Student Development
The teacher understands how children learn and develop, and can provide learning opportunities that support a child's intellectual, social, and personal development.
3. Diverse Learners

9. Reflective Practice: Professional Growth

10. School and Community Involvement
The teacher fosters relationships with school colleagues, parents, and agencies in the larger community to support students' learning and well-being.
STEP 4: For EACH principle, list the following:
1. REFLECTION
Write a short paragraph (at least 5 to 10 sentences) about each principle.
Your statement should focus on a common theme for each principle such as:
How can a teacher demonstrate this principle? OR
What does this principle mean to me? OR
How have I demonstrated this principle in my studies or experiences?
These are just examples. The theme of the reflections is YOUR decision.
2. ARTIFACT
Artifacts are evidence that you met or will meet the INTASC standards.
They can be provided in printed form such as Microsoft Word documents or in
digital form such as Microsoft PowerPoint presentations and web pages.
Photographs and videos are also commonly used as artifacts. This link may help

Considerations in Assembling a Portfolio for Interviews
http://teacherworld.com/portfoliolist.html
You should provide an artifact or list of artifacts to demonstrate your competency or future competency for each principle. This can be in the form of a statement, photograph, or link to another web page or document. In the next class, I will be demonstrating how to link to documents that you may already have from other classes (such as Word or PowerPoint documents). I will also demonstrate how to create photographs that download fast and how to make thumbnail photographs.
As with all other web pages on your site, the design and layout of this page is completely your decision!
Warning:
This assignments may be hard on the brain but no one ever said that teaching was
easy (at least no one that had a brain).
