Week 1: January 14 to 18

No Assignment

Week 2: January 21 to 25

Create a slide show movie with an inspirational message at http://eyespot.com

The requirements are:

• The movie must consist of 10 digital photographs taken by you
• Each photo should be in the movie for at least 3 seconds
• The movie should have an inspirational text message and common pictorial theme that supports the message
• The movie should have a title, signal of ending, and credits
• The movie should have at least 1 music tracks
• The movie should have an introductory web page that describes the movie and links to it

Week 3: January 28 to February 1

Download a musical file and edit using Audacity. The editing requirements are to cut a section of the file and add special effects. Save in your folder. You will play the file for the class.

Week 4: February 4 to February 9

Create an instructional video using IMovie. We wil be reviewing shooting techniqures, cameras, and IMovie in class.

The requirements are:

• The movie should be instructional and one that could be used as part of a lesson plan in your area of certification.
• All video footage must be shot by you.
• The footage must be edited for content. This means that the the editing process will involve the cutting and pasting of video clips.
• The topic, content, and nature of the movie must be approved by me before you begin the project.
• The movie should be a minimum of 2 minutes.
• The movie should have a title, transitions, a signal of ending, and credits.
• The movie should have at least 1 music track.
• You will have 2 outputs for the movie, one large file on DVD and one medium file for your web site.
• You should have me proof the final copy of the movie before your final output.
• The movie should have an introductory web page that describes the movie, states the movie's learning objective and how it could be used during a lesson, and identifies the appropriate state standard.. This web page should also provide a link to your movie.

Please note that this assignment is subject to changes depending on the problems that we encounter and the pace of the class. Check this page for updates.

SPRING BREAK

Week 10: March 17 to March 21

Create an digital storytelling video using Adobe Premiere Elements 4.0. I will review this software with you in class.

The requirements are:

• The movie should be narrated by you.
• All video footage must be shot by you.
• The footage must be edited for content. This means that the the editing process will involve the cutting and pasting of video clips.
• The story should have emotional appeal with STRONG use of imagery.
• The topic, content, and nature of the movie must be approved by me before you begin the project.
• The movie should be a minimum of 2 minutes.
• The movie should have a title, transitions, a signal of ending, and credits.
• The movie should have at least 1 music track.
• You will have 2 outputs for the movie, one large file on DVD and one medium file for your web site.
• You should have me proof the final copy of the movie before your final output.
• The movie should have an introductory web page that describes the movie.
• This web page should also provide a link to your movie.

Adobe Premiere Elements 4.0 is installed in the lab on all 12 computers against the wall by the printers. You can also download a free trial at http://www.adobe.com/products/premiereel/ but keep in mind this is only for 30 days.
