Collaboration on the Internet is the purposeful 2-way sharing or exchanging of information between individuals and/or groups through the web.  Collaboration is an important concept that addresses many issues in our 21st century global society.  Since many educational web sites are dedicated to sharing information with teachers and students,  the teacher's job is to make an informed decision about the quality and validity of this information before it is given to the students.

Tools for collaboration include Email, Listserves (also known as mailing lists and mailrings), Newsgroups (also known as Usenet), Chat, Audio and Video Conferencing, Web Forums, and Online Collaboration Tools.

The purpose of this assignment is to explore the concept of WEB collaboration for both you and your students. Your mission is to develop a lesson plan in which your students collaborate and share information through the Internet.  The lesson plan should be in a web page format on your web site and saved as "collaborationlp.html"

Web site resources for collaboration can be found at: http://teacherworld.com/collaborationlinks.html
